| When you place an order at the
Sluggy store, your information is protected with 128-bit SSL encryption.
Normally, you can verify this by getting "page info" or
"page properties" from your browser once you're on the ordering
page.
However, Netscape browsers will incorrectly show you that the
page is insecure: this is because the store uses a frames system (the top
border, the left-side contents window, and the main display window). Even
though the ordering page is secure (and Netscape will usually tell you
that you're entering a secure document), when you try to get information
on the page, it will appear as though the page is not secure, because
Netscape is giving you information for the frames page, rather than the
ordering page.
If
this makes you uncomfortable, you can do the following to verify that the
ordering page is secure. First, add items to your shopping cart as
usual. When you're ready to check out, come to this page and click
the "view cart" button to the left. This button will open up the
page in a new browser window so that
your web browser won't be confused. At this point, you should be able to
get information on the page, and verify that encryption is working
properly. Just fill out the required information, complete your purchase,
and then you can close the window.
